Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, one half of the renowned music group Psquare, has voiced his support for fathers striving to be involved in their children’s lives.
Amid the ongoing custody dispute between Davido and his first babymama, Sophia Momodu, Paul took to his Instagram story to acknowledge and pray for these dedicated fathers.
Paul Okoye wrote:
“Special shout-out to all the men who want to be in their children’s lives. God is your strength”.
While some social media users agreed with his sentiment, others criticized him, arguing that a father should not need special recognition for wanting to be part of his child’s life. Comments ranged from supportive to critical:

The custody battle between Davido and Sophia Momodu has garnered significant public attention. The conflict intensified after Davido’s relationship with his now-wife, Chioma, leading to disputes over their 8-year-old daughter, Imade. Just before his wedding, Davido filed for joint custody, accusing Sophia of denying him access to their daughter and extorting money. In response, Sophia debunked these claims, alleging that Davido had neglected their daughter because she refused to have sex with him.
Recently, Sophia filed a 102-paragraph affidavit opposing Davido’s request for joint custody. She cited various reasons, including the tragic death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, his controversial lifestyle, and his alleged tendency to use their daughter to retaliate against her.
