Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has reignited his feud with his senior colleague, Davido, following a dispute over a potential song collaboration.

The two artists initially fell out when Davido declined to provide a verse for Portable’s track. Portable, frustrated by the refusal, took to Instagram to announce that he would proceed with the release of the song without Davido’s contribution. He emphasized his belief that a true helper wouldn’t cause unnecessary stress, stating,

Na who help you be your helper who promises you fit change mind. As @davido no gree give me verse on this song I don kuku drop am my self. Star. Don’t beg to shine, who go help you, no go stress you.”

The disagreement has deepened since then. Portable had previously criticized Davido after a dinner and luxury shoe gift, claiming that Davido had given him poor advice. According to Portable, Davido, despite his affiliation with Sony Music, advised him to sign with Empire and take an advance. Portable also implied that Davido’s pursuit of Grammy accolades is a goal he shares.

Following the fallout, Davido unfollowed Portable on Instagram, further fueling Portable’s ire. Portable alleged that Davido used him for publicity without offering any real support. He also accused Zlatan of interfering in his relationship with Davido, alleging that Zlatan warned Davido to “behave himself” around him.

Social media users have been vocal about the situation, with many questioning the worthiness of the song Portable wanted Davido to feature on. Reactions ranged from disbelief to criticism, with comments such as:

– “Na this song you wan put Davido on?” (Ashewo Boy07)
– “How OBO wan take enter this song now? Beg Machala too na Abi?” (Clams Jay)
– “Haaa thank God Davido change mind” (Big Hush606)
– “U wey no get package. Na u Davido drop verse for yimu?” (West_000011)
– “Na this kind song u wan ft Davido?” (Mic Adebayo)

The ongoing drama highlights the volatile nature of the Nigerian music industry, where personal and professional disputes frequently intersect. As Portable continues to express his grievances publicly, the feud with Davido remains a hot topic among fans and critics alike.
