President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja, Nigeria, after attending the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The summit focused on the Middle East’s current situation.
At around 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the presidential plane touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Upon arrival, he was greeted by a delegation of top government officials led by Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff.
The president was joined by other heads of state and government from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the League of Arab States at the one-day summit.
At the summit on Monday, President Tinubu called for a halt to Israeli assault in Gaza, noting that “the conflict has persisted for far too long, inflicting immeasurable suffering,” and voiced great worry about Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.
