Seun Kuti, the son of the legendary Afrobeat musician Fela Kuti, has shared his thoughts on the victory of Bola Tinubu, the candidate of the All Progressive People’s Congress, in the 2023 Nigerian presidential elections. In a post on his Instagram page, Seun urged Nigerians to be cautious of blindly following celebrities.
He wrote,
“You wanted the lesser of three evils, but you got the best! May the best liar win! Let’s identify those who are ready to do the work. It starts today.”
Seun also shared his belief that some Nigerian celebrities use their support and resources to become citizens of other countries, so their children will not have to exist with the children of other Nigerians.
The announcement of Tinubu’s victory was made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of March 1, 2023.
