All current Boards and Commissions in Taraba State would be immediately dissolved, according to Governor Agbu Kefas.

All boards and commissions currently operating in the state under whatever description are to be disbanded with immediate effect, according to the governor’s order, which was issued on Monday.

The dissolution was announced in a statement signed by Barrister Gebon Timothy Kataps, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and it was effective “with immediate effect.”

The statement reads, “members of the Boards and Commissions affected, are directed to, as a matter of urgency, hand over all government assets and property, moveable and immovable in their possession to the most senior civil servant in such Board or Commission”.

Additionally, they were told to carry out the order within 48 hours of the announcement date.

On assuming office, the governor dismissed all the existing chairs of the different bodies. And parastatals formed by the previous governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku.

Kefas also dismissed the 16 local government council chairs serving as caretaker committees.
