Taraba State Government has officially inaugurated two major digital platforms: the Electronic Medical Records for Secondary Healthcare Facilities (EMR4SHF) and the Human Resources for Health (HRH) Database.
The official launch ceremony was held over the weekend in Jalingo, the state capital. Governor Agbu Kefas was represented at the event by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Bodiya Gbansheya Buma, who conveyed the governor’s strong commitment to transforming healthcare delivery through technological innovation.
Governor Kefas described the introduction of these systems as a pivotal advancement in the state’s ongoing efforts to digitise its healthcare services and improve the management of medical personnel across all secondary health institutions.
He emphasised that embracing cutting-edge technology is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency, elevating the quality of patient care, and ultimately making healthcare more accessible and responsive to the needs of all residents.
The EMR4SHF platform is specifically designed to revolutionise patient data management by streamlining documentation processes, facilitating better coordination among healthcare providers, and ensuring the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date medical records for every patient.
Simultaneously, the HRH Database will serve as a centralised repository for comprehensive information on the state’s health workforce, including details on deployment, performance evaluations, and identified training needs.
This integrated approach aims to significantly strengthen strategic planning and resource management within the health sector, marking a cornerstone of the administration’s commitment to leveraging technology for sustainable development and improved public service outcomes.
