Bayer Leverkusen manager, Xabi Alonso, has confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is ready to start in the club’s UEFA Europa League match against West Ham United. This comes after Boniface’s return from a three-month injury layoff due to an adductor injury.

The Bundesliga leaders will host West Ham in the first leg of the Europa League tie at the BayArena on Thursday. Boniface made his comeback in Leverkusen’s recent DFB Pokal victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf and also appeared as a substitute in their league win against Union Berlin.

Alonso revealed in a press conference that Boniface is fully fit and could be used from the start against West Ham. The 24-year-old has been in exceptional form in the Europa League this season, contributing four goals and one assist in just five appearances.

This news will come as a boost for Leverkusen, as they look to secure a strong result in the first leg of their Europa League tie. Boniface’s presence in the starting lineup will provide them with a potent attacking threat and increase their chances of progressing to the next round.

Fans will be eagerly anticipating Boniface’s return to action, hoping that he can continue his impressive performances in Europe and help Leverkusen advance in the competition.
