Suspected bandits have kidnapped several women and children in Tabkin Maza, a community in Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The attack occurred on the evening of Thursday, July 24, forcing residents to flee to the nearby Masgo community as insecurity continues to escalate in the region.

According to a security analyst, Bakatsine, who reported the incident via social media on Friday, the bandits targeted residents as they attempted to escape the violence. Many women and children were taken during the assault, deepening fears among locals about their safety.

The analyst also noted that the attackers have reportedly established a new camp in the western forest of Bakura, raising concerns about further attacks in the area.

The abduction has sparked panic among residents, who are now pleading with the Zamfara State Government and security agencies to take immediate action. The community is urging authorities to deploy more security personnel and intensify operations to dismantle bandit hideouts before more lives are endangered.

Zamfara State has faced persistent security challenges, with frequent kidnappings, killings, and displacement of villagers by armed groups. Despite ongoing military operations, bandits continue to carry out attacks, particularly in rural areas where security presence is limited.

The latest incident in Tabkin Maza highlights the urgent need for stronger measures to protect vulnerable communities and restore stability in the region. Residents remain hopeful that swift intervention from the government and security forces will help secure the release of the abducted victims and prevent future attacks.
