President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and senior aides at the Presidential Villa would spend N15.961 billion on foreign and domestic travels in 2024.
The amount is contained in the 2024 Appropriation Bill, which is now being debated by the National Assembly.
The breakdown of the number revealed that President Tinubu will spend N7.630 billion on travel, with the majority of the money going towards international visits.
If approved by the National Asembly, he would spend N6.992 billion on international visits and N638.535 million on domestic travel.
Similarly, Vice President Shettima will spend N1.847 billion on foreign and domestic travel.
According to the budget plan, he will spend N1.229 billion on international travel and N618.399 million on domestic travel.
Another N6.484 billion has been set aside for Villa Headquarters’ foreign and domestic travel.
It was made up of N6.282 billion for overseas travels, N60. 981 million for local training travels, and N140.640 million for local travels.
The Villa Headquarters received N40.616 billion in the federal budget for 2024, with a capital vote of N12.497 billion, overhead of N10.334 billion, and personnel of N163 billion.
