Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, better known as 2Baba, is facing strong reactions online following his open letter on his 25th anniversary in music.
The Afrobeat icon, who has marked a remarkable 25 years in the industry, shared an emotional tribute to key figures who shaped his journey. In the letter, 2Baba expressed deep gratitude to his new wife, Natasha, his former bandmates Blackface and Faze, his long-time manager Efe Omorogbe, and several friends, family members, and colleagues. He also announced plans for a grand anniversary celebration at the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, on November 14, 2025.
However, what caught the attention of many was the absence of his ex-wife, Annie Idibia, from the tribute — a move that didn’t sit well with fans who felt she deserved acknowledgment for standing by him through his early struggles.
Social media quickly lit up with mixed reactions:
“Wife of a few months don collect appreciation. Congratulations sir,” one user wrote.
“Not thanking the wife who stood by you is wickedness,” another commented.
“Give Annie her flowers! She was the grace carrier,” a fan added.
Recall that in July 2025, 2Baba tied the knot traditionally with Natasha, in a private ceremony attended by close family members, including his parents. Earlier in September, on his 50th birthday, he had reflected on his career, appreciating everyone who had supported him along the way.
Natasha also celebrated her husband with a touching message, describing him as “the love of my life” and noting how, despite being 20 years older, he still looks younger than she does.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time 2Baba has drawn criticism in recent months. During an interview, he stirred controversy with comments suggesting that men aren’t naturally wired to be intimate with only one woman.
