Chelsea suffered a defeat at home to Aston Villa in their first fixture after the international break. The London-based side now sits 11th on the league table. Goals from John McGinn and Olie Watkins pile up problems for Chelsea manager, Graham Potter.
Heading into the fixture, Chelsea was level on points with the opponents but sat above them on goal difference. however, they have now been overtaken and find themselves in the bottom half of the league.
Unai Emery’s side has been undefeated in their last four Premier League matches. They beat Bournemouth 3-0 in their last outing with dangerman Ollie Watkins recording six goals and one assist in his last eight matches.
Chelsea’s inability to convert chances by Kai Harvetz and Ngolo Kante will hurt them as Aston Villa won at Stamford Bridge for the first time in for 12 years.
Potter’s team have now lost and failed to score in four premier league home games this season; their joint most such defeats in a single campaign.
