Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland, has broken the Premier League record by scoring 30 goals in 27 appearances. This is the fewest game needed to reach 30 goals by any player in premier league history. The Norwegian now has more league goals than Chelsea this season. The City striker now has 44 goals in all competitions this season, equaling Van Nistelrooy and Mo Salah’s record for most goals (44) across all competitions in a single season.
Meanwhile, team mate Kevin De Bruyne became the fifth player to reach 100 Premier League assists when he set up Erling Haaland opening against Southampton.
Two goals either side of the break from Haaland, a Jack Grealish strike, and Julian Alvaraz’s spot-kick was enough to secure all three points for Manchester City as they try to close to gap on Arsenal who face Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
