On Wednesday, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved N495 million to install scanners at every railway station across Nigeria. The FEC meeting was
chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
According to NAN, Minister of State for Transportation, Mr Ademola Adegoroye briefed State House correspondents after a meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Adegoroye said this installation will increase security at the station.
He said-
“The Federal Ministry of Transportation had two memos today, which I presented on behalf of the ministry. One had to do with the provision of scanners at all railway stations all over the country.
“So, today, there was a memo before the council for the provision of baggage scanners at railway stations and I’m happy to inform you that the council agreed with us and approved that contract for scanners to be installed at railway stations.”
