Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain and Bruno Fernandes of Manchester United are the only players to have at least 50 goals and assists across all competitions since January 2020.
After assisting Marcel Sabitzer, a teammate from Man United, to score the opening goal in the UEFA Europa League, UEL, quarterfinal first-leg 2-2 tie on Thursday against Sevilla, Fernandes accomplished the feat.
In January 2020, the international player from Portugal joined Man United.
Since his transfer from Sporting CP, he has been an essential member of the Red Devils’ starting lineup. The 28-year-old has now scored 60 goals and contributed 50 assists for Man United across all competitions.
For Manchester United, Fernandes won’t play against Sevilla in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal matchup. A shot by Nemanja Gudelj that struck Fernandes’ arm in the first half earned him a booking.
