In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, Nissi Ogulu, Burnaboy’s sister opened up about her family, including her mother, Bose Ogulu, who is famously known as Burna Boy’s manager, and her father, Samuel Ogulu, who is not often talked about in the media.
Nissi had high praises for her mother, describing her as the “creme de la creme” and a boss. She recounted a memory where they were in a room with governors. Her mother had stood up and silenced everyone with her ideologies and methodologies. Nissi admired her mother’s ability to get people thinking and the impact she had at that moment.
When it comes to her father, Nissi was very enthusiastic and spoke highly of him. She described him as selfless and not the typical African parent who barely builds good relationships with their kids. Nissi went on to say that her father is what she would want anybody she eventually ends up with to be like when it comes to parenting.
He is always ready to go above and beyond for his kids without doing the whole “typical African dad thing” of being distant or wanting to take the spotlight. In fact, Nissi mentioned that her father used to paint her nails when she was a kid. She stated that this was a bonding moment for them.
Nissi’s interview with Chude Jideonwo has given us a glimpse into her family dynamics. It has also shown the kind of parents she was blessed to have.
