Rymir Satterthwaite, a 30-year-old man, has reportedly filed a court order requiring rapper and entrepreneur Jay-Z to take a DNA test to prove whether or not he is his father. Satterthwaite claims to resemble the 24-time Grammy winner and insists that he only wants Jay-Z to acknowledge his existence. However, the rapper’s legal team has consistently denied that he is Satterthwaite’s father.
Satterthwaite alleges that his mother, Wanda, had an on-and-off relationship with Jay-Z in the early 1990s before he became a global megastar. He claims that the rapper is his biological father and says he won’t stop fighting for his recognition.
Jay-Z’s attorneys have responded to the court order, stating that the courts have thoroughly reviewed and dismissed the allegations. They anticipate that the outcome of the current filing will be the same.
Satterthwaite’s mother had listed her childhood sweetheart Robert Graves as the father on Satterthwaite’s birth certificate by the time he was born in July 1992. However, Satterthwaite claims that his mother told him that the rapper was his real dad when he was eight.
In 2011, Wanda filed a civil lawsuit in New Jersey to demand child support from Jay-Z. However, it was dismissed later due to being filed in the wrong state and was never re-filed.
Jay-Z has been married to singer Beyoncé since 2008, and the couple shares three children. He has not commented personally on Satterthwaite’s claims.
