Tottenham have dropped their interest in Julian Nagelsmann as they continue their search for a new head coach. Sources have confirmed that Tottenham did not meet Julian Nagelsmann and no meeting is scheduled to take place.
The former Bayern boss has been touted to take over at Tottenham, following his sacking from Bayern Munich, and Antonio Conte at Spurs.
Spurs continue to search for a permanent replacement for Conte after interim manager Cristian Stellini was sacked in April and replaced by Ryan Mason.
Nagelsmann is recognized as one of the game’s most promising managerial talents, having taken charge of Hoffenheim aged 28 before moving to RB Leipzig, leading the club to the Champions League semi-finals.
The German is respected by senior figures at the club but he is not one for them at this moment in time.
Among the candidates lined up for the Spurs job are ex-Spain and Barcelona coach Luis Enrique, Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim, Feyenoord’s Arne Slot and Xabi Alonso of Bayer Leverkusen. Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou and Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi.
While their manager search continues, Spurs will look to secure a place in European competition next season. The London team are currently sixth in the Premier League and face Aston Villa on Saturday.
