The 100-hour Cook-a-thon record of Hilda Baci has been surpassed by Nigerian cook, Damilola Adeparusi.
The chef celebrated the accomplishment on Tuesday by posting the new record on her Instagram feed.
According to sources, the chef’s 120-hour cook-a-thon started on June 9th, 2023.
She apparently finished 15 of the 120 scheduled hours of cooking before becoming the focus of a viral video.
While some online users chastised her for trying to top Hilda’s ‘yet to be verified’ Guinness World Record attempt, others praised her for having confidence in herself.
Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, the first lady of Ekiti State, took to social media in support of the chef’s quest to break the record for the longest cooking session with a target of 120 hours.
Dr. Ayo Arojo, a Nigerian physician, was also drawn to Chef Dammy. He gave him N500,000 as well as a two-week cooking trip of the US.
Using his Facebook page, Chef Dammy, Arojo, announced his offerings, which further boosted support for the Ekiti Chef writing.
“Chef Dammy will be invited for a two-week cook tour in the United States. I can’t wait for her to start the process!
“Let us continue to support her.”
