Chukwuka Ekweani, also known as CKay, has credited Tekno and Runtown’s music with paving the way for Afrobeat music’s global popularity.
On Friday, June 16, 2023, he tweeted this, reiterating that the Nigerian music business would one day hold a roundtable to discuss the contribution of Tekno and Runtown to the development of Afrobeats.
As he put it,
