A Federal Government agency, the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, said they will complete the N8 billion Jattu Dam in Edo by 2028.
During a site inspection and the first stakeholder meeting report, Mr. Saliu Ahmed, the Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, announced on Saturday at the Jattu Dam site in Ayoghena, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo.
Officials from the Federal Government, the Edo State Government, and the contracting businesses – Prospective Multilink Ltd. and Havage Engineering Services Ltd. Joint Venture – were present.
He claimed that Edo State had pledged 25% of the project’s counterpart financing, which the federal government gave in April.
“This is a special project of the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Water Resource and co-financed by the Edo State government.
“Edo State has committed 25 per cent counterpart funding for the project”, he stated.
