American model Jessica White has bravely spoken out about her experience of being in an “emotionally abusive” relationship with TV host and actor Nick Cannon during their long-term romance. The former Victoria’s Secret runway model dated Cannon for eight years, from 2015 to 2020.
In an interview with Page Six, White revealed that she went through emotional abuse in the relationship. Emphasizing that it is a common experience that many people face. She expressed her desire to break the silence surrounding such relationships in Hollywood and not sugarcoat the reality. White stated, ”
I am just the first person in Hollywood to talk about it and not try to make a pretty picture of it. I don’t want to be perfect.”
White, now 38, also shared that she suffered a miscarriage in 2020 while she was pregnant with Cannon’s child. In a previous interview with Hollywood Unlocked in 2021, White disclosed that she discovered another woman’s pregnancy through Instagram while she and Cannon were still together. Despite the challenges they faced, she mentioned that they tried to work things out and didn’t immediately break up.
Cannon, who has 12 children, became the subject of a recent lengthy Instagram message from White, suggesting that it was directed towards him. In the message, White expressed her desire for their relationship to work and her confusion about why certain things occurred. White later regretted posting the message publicly, however. She realized that she could have saved it for a future book where she could have shared her story and received compensation for it.
