Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has asserted that there is no “true love” in Lagos State. The ‘Sex Over Love’ singer stated this during a recent interview with well-known podcaster Fay Fay.
Blaqbonez claimed to have witnessed pure love in the states of Adamawa and Nasarawa and a brief glimpse in Akwa Ibom but insisted that it is nonexistent in Lagos.
He said,
“I have seen true love in other states. You know, like Nasarawa, Yola [Adamawa]… I think I have seen a little bit in Akwa Ibom, but I have never witnessed it in Lagos.”
In February last year, Blaqbonez revealed his girlfriend, Gbemi Daniel, on his social media profiles. He said keeping her hidden from the public was terrible because she stood by him when no one else did.
Sharing a romantic video compilation of himself and Gbemi, Blaqbonez wrote;
“Love is beautiful when you find the right one. It feels wrong to continue to hide you from the world cos last year when I lost my brother no one else was there for me but you.”
