Not everyone would consider leaving all they possess to a wealthy football star a good deed, but one Brazilian fan recently did just that. Neymar Jr. of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was the most suitable receiver of the unnamed fan’s worldly possessions.
He claimed that, in addition to his passion for the Brazilian football tradition and the national team, Neymar’s personal qualities drove him to include the striker in his will.
“I like Neymar, I identify with him a lot. I also suffer with defamation, I am also very family-oriented and the relationship with his father reminds me a lot of mine with my father, who has passed away,” the fan said in an interview.
“I am not in very good health and, because of that, I really saw that I don’t have anyone to leave my things to… I wouldn’t want the government or relatives I don’t get along with to take my things.”
The 30-year-old continued by saying that he had previously made fruitless attempts to hand the Brazilian international his assets.
However, he emphasised that the will was a legitimate method of doing so and that it was signed by a Porto Alegre notary’s office.
Neymar of PSG is one of the highest-paid athletes in the world, with Forbes projecting 2023 earnings of $85 million.
