Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic chose to join Saudi Pro League club, Al-Nassr over a move to Barcelona because of game time at the Blaugrana.
However, the two parties ultimately agreed upon a €18 million sum. Barcelona, in search of a successor to Sergio Busquets, also had an interest in signing the midfielder this summer.
Although Barcelona expressed interest in signing the Croatian international from Inter Milan, the player decided to accept the lucrative offer from the SPL instead. Brozovic believed that he wouldn’t receive a guaranteed starting position in Xavi’s squad.
The Croat helped Inter reach the UEFA Champions League final after playing 40 games for them last season.
