Shehu Sani, a sociopolitical analyst, has argued that Nigeria cannot have food security if terrorists are massacring farmers.
He complained that the country could not have food security if bandits forced rural communities to pay levies.
Shehu Sani wrote:
You cannot have food security in a country where farmers are slaughtered by terrorists and farming communities are forced to pay levies to Bandits.
“The declaration of emergency on food security exposed the deception about those rice pyramids and the futility of closing the land borders.”
President Bola Tinubu recently declared a state on food security. This was a step to alleviate the hardship of Nigerians following the elimination of gasoline subsidies.
Tinubu made the decision following extensive consultation with stakeholders in the food and agricultural value chain, including the Central Bank of Nigeria, Customs, the Farmers Association, and major financial experts.
