Bayern Munich has denied claims from Sadio Mane’s PR manager suggesting that the club forced him out because of his African heritage.
The former Liverpool star recently made a high-profile move to Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, signing a lucrative £650,000-a-week contract alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.
Mane’s PR manager, Bacary Cisse, stated that Bayern Munich wanted to get rid of him due to his high salary as the top earner.
We have terminated our contract with Sadio Mane by mutual agreement. Accusations of racism, as formulated by Sadio’s entourage, are and have been baseless from the start. Our coach Thomas Tuchel never told Sadio he couldn’t use him anymore. Mane’s time at Bayern was plagued by injuries. FC Bayern appreciated Sadio Mane as a man and as a player. Unfortunately, our common objectives, which we had set ourselves before his signature, have not been achieved. We wish Sadio all the best and success at his new club.”
