Job Description
The Executive Director will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the operations, finances, staff, administration, programs, volunteers, and strategic initiatives of the Foundation. This role will also drive fundraising, promotions & visibility, community outreach, and stakeholder relationship to achieve the Foundation’s mission, vision, and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operations in a manner that supports and promotes the organization’s mission, vision, and objectives as defined by the BOT.
- Communicate effectively with the BOT and provide, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the BOT to function properly and to make informed decisions
- Provide leadership to staff, as well as manage their efforts to ensure appropriate support of all stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends
- Supervise the development of operations-based financial modeling.
- Coordinate and lead annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, and periodic forecast updates with operational and senior management.
- Develop and implement consistent inventory and cost accounting policies, procedures, and operational reporting/metrics.
- Approve major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.
- Provide and support innovative strategies to promote the activities and visibility of the Foundation.
- Retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth, and personal development for workers.
- Ensure that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
- Identify and foster collaborative public sector and private sector partnerships with stakeholders including medical professionals, to promote inclusion and expertise, in the conduct and outcomes of Medical Missions.
- Plan, organize, and direct the organization’s operations and programs.
- Restructure and transform the different units by hiring efficient and high-quality talent, defining strategies, optimizing processes, developing project management tools, and managing the operational budget, to ensure the streamlined execution of projects and reduce participant and sample acquisition costs.
- Oversee and report on the organization’s overall results for the BOT.
- Drive compliance with Occupational Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies, processes, procedures, and applicable laws/legal requirements.
- Take responsibility for the health & safety of self, staff, stakeholders, and all third parties in association with the Foundation.
- Handle all complaints and ensure prompt and affection resolution of issues raised.
Qualifications
- 12 years prior experience working as a Non-Profit Executive Director or similar senior management role.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong technical writing and business writing skills.
- Internal policies and procedures.
- Proven work experience with relevant training and/or certifications as a Non-Profit Executive Director or similar role.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, communication, team management, relationship-building skills, and knowledge of non-profit operations and regulations.
- Experience in running fundraising initiatives.
- Knowledge of volunteer recruitment and how to get individuals involved for the organization’s success.
- Strong knowledge of financials and how to build financial forecasting documents for the BOT as a Non-Profit Executive Director.
- Up to date on industry/NGO trends and able to stay ahead of the curve.
