Having made a limited 12 appearances in the previous Premier League season for Manchester City, Laporte’s presence on the pitch had dwindled. Notably, he was absent from the roster during Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Newcastle.
In his heartfelt post, Laporte reflected on his time with the club: “Reflecting on my journey, the highs encompassing trophies, victories, goals, and memorable tackles, as well as the lows typified by injuries, setbacks, and personal mistakes. Each experience has contributed to my growth as an athlete.”
