Kai Havertz Under Scrutiny After Lackluster Performance in Arsenal’s Draw Against Fulham

Arsenal’s Kai Havertz has faced criticism following his lackluster performance in the team’s 2-2 draw against Fulham at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday. The former Chelsea attacker, who started alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice in Mikel Arteta’s midfield trio, struggled to make an impact against Marco Silva’s side.

Havertz missed a golden opportunity to level the score in the 11th minute, failing to connect properly with Bukayo Saka’s cross from close range.

He also had a chance to net his first goal for the club, but failed to capitalize on Saka’s cross across the goal face. His involvement was further marred by an offside decision that disallowed a goal by Odegaard just before halftime.

The German midfielder was substituted in the 56th minute for Fabio Vieira, who made a positive impact off the bench. Vieira won a penalty for Arsenal and provided an assist for Eddie Nketiah’s goal, putting the team ahead 2-1.

However, Arsenal couldn’t maintain their lead and had to settle for a 2-2 draw after Fulham’s Joao Palhinha equalized.

Critics voiced their dissatisfaction with Havertz’s performance on social media, with some questioning Arteta’s decision to start him over players like Emile Smith Rowe. Pundits like Darren Bent and fans from both Arsenal and Chelsea communities expressed concerns about Havertz’s role in the team.

Havertz’s disappointing display has drawn attention to Arsenal’s midfield balance and the challenges he faces to justify his inclusion in the starting lineup.
