British broadcaster Piers Morgan has criticized Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s decision to drop Aaron Ramsdale for their Premier League clash at Everton.
Arteta has chosen to start with David Raya, who was signed on loan from Brentford in the summer.
When asked about the change, the Gunners boss told Sky:
“I think I mentioned that we wanted a squad with two quality players in each position with different characteristics; we’ve got that now.
“To maximize that, they have to play games. We have a lot of games coming up now. It’s the same with other players that we have rotated; they will get a lot of game time in the next few games.”
But Morgan, writing on X, said:
“I don’t understand what Ramsdale has done to deserve being dropped. Havertz, yes, but Ramsdale’s been consistently superb for us. Why humiliate him?”
