Nigerians have delved into a past tweet from award-winning singer Davido, connecting it with recent reports of the arrival of twins with his wife, Chioma. Speculation heightened after a tweet from the artist hinted at the possibility of the “best week of his life.”
In one of the songs on his album, “Timeless,” titled “In The Garden,” Davido’s lyrics include the line, “Abi mo meji, mama Ibeji,” suggesting the anticipation of twins. The term “Maba Ibeji” translates to “mother of twins.”
Davido’s tweet on Sunday, expressing that the upcoming week would be the “best week” of his life, further fuelled speculations about the couple welcoming twins. Nigerian clergyman Pastor Gospel Agochukwu had also confirmed the birth of their twins.
Netizens shared their reactions on social media, with some referencing the song lyrics and expressing joy for the couple. If true, the birth of twins would mark a joyous occasion for Davido and Chioma, who tragically lost their son last year at the age of three.
