The House of Representatives has confirmed members of the Niger Delta Development Commission’s Board and Management appointed by President Bola Tinubu on Thursday.
Mr President nominated Mr Chiedu Ebie for the job of NDDC Board Chairman, along with 16 others, on August 29.
The nominees on Thursday, appeared before the House Ad Hoc Committee on the NDDC.
Following their confirmation, the chairman of the committee, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, urged the board members-designate to justify the President’s trust in them.
He stated:
“Now, more than ever before, the NDDC needs visionary leaders with integrity to drive the discharge of the commission’s mandate, to translate to tangible impact on the lives of the people and communities in the Niger Delta.”
The confirmed members-designate are Mr Chiedu Ebie, Chairman (Delta State); Dr Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (Bayelsa); Executive Director, Finance and Admin, Mr Boma Iyaye (Rivers); Executive Director of Projects, Mr Victor Antai (Akwa-Ibom); and Executive Director, Corporate Services, Otito Atikase (Ondo).
Others who confirmed their participation were Dimaro Denyanbofa (Bayelsa), Abasi Nkono (Akwa-Ibom); Monday Igbuya (Delta); Tony Okocha(Rivers); Patrick Aisowieren (Edo); Kyrian Uchegbu (Imo); Victor Akinjo (Ondo); Dimgba Eruba (Abia); Orok Duke (Cross River); Nick Wende (North Central); Namdas Abdulrazak (North-East); and Dr Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir (North-West).
