The governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has authorised the payment of N136.26 million to 368 state employees as a vehicle loan.
The beneficiaries of the loan plan would get payments varying from N80,000 to N1.5 million, according to Commissioner for Finance Mr. Akin Oyebode, based on their grade levels.
According to Oyebode, the governor also gave his approval for the N200 million loan programme recapitalization.
In a statement made on Sunday in Ado Ekiti, the commissioner reaffirmed the Oyebanji administration’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce.
“The governor, in addition, approved payment of N174.39m outstanding deductions from salaries to cooperative societies, Federal Mortgage Bank and others,” he said.
Oyebode stated, emphasising specifics on the automobile loan’s disbursement: “Twenty-two benefiting officers on grade levels 02-06 would get N80,000 each while 180 beneficiaries on Grade Levels 07-10 would receive N250,000 each.
“One hundred and fifty workers on Grade Levels 12-14 would be given N500,000 each; 13 personnel on Grade Levels 15-17 would get N750,000 each and the three beneficiaries on consolidated salary would take home N1.5m each.”
The commissioner stated that the Oyebanji administration will continue to put the welfare of its employees first, despite the fact that the government disbursed N130.7 million in vehicle loans in December 2022.
