Job Description
The UX Designer is responsible for creating and implementing visually appealing and user-friendly website designs. They possess advanced knowledge of web design principles, coding languages, and graphic design software. They collaborate with clients or stakeholders to understand requirements, develop wireframes and prototypes, and create custom designs. They also ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and optimal user experience.
Responsibilities
- Designs and develops text and graphic content for web sites and other web-based resources that promote and describe DOE service areas, programs, and topics in accordance with DOE requirements for web-based content. New content may include but is not limited to new pages, fact sheets, infographics, event information, blogs, and reports, as provided by SME’s.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize and communicate design ideas.
- Ensure designs are responsive and adaptable to various screen sizes and devices for a consistent user experience.
- Regularly reviews DOE websites to ensure content is up to date, relevant, and accurate.
- Develops revised text and graphic content as needed, for review by senior communication and program staff and clearance through DOE eClearance process.
- Revises web content in collaboration with web personnel in accordance with DOE Web requirements.
- Meets with client to ensure work meets client objectives and to propose initiatives.
- Provides consultation services to the DOE staff on multi-faceted communications program area and on the development of integrated product and service strategy.
- Tracks, coordinates, and responds to requests for information from various audiences.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualification
- Must have some form of web design certification or related higher education.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience and must have a portfolio or examples of work to demonstrate.
- Experience writing, reviewing, and editing health communication and technical documentation materials.
- Experience writing in plain language.
- Experience developing content for social media.
- Experience developing web content, design, and development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Attention to details.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
