The conflict emerged when Abusalami accused Davido of owing him a staggering 218 million Naira for a football project, with Davido allegedly failing to meet his end of the financial agreement. This led to a public exchange of heated words between the two on social media.
Last week, reports surfaced claiming that Abusalami had been arrested by the police, sparking speculation about Davido’s influential background being used to intimidate him. Leaked chat conversations revealed Davido’s intent to settle the debt, but his father advised against it, suggesting the matter be resolved in court. This fuelled speculation about Davido’s legal team having an advantage in a potential courtroom battle.
Expressing embarrassment over the public dispute, Davido stated that Abusalami had aired his grievances too openly, affecting his joy of welcoming his twin babies with Chioma.
