Nigerian comedienne and actress, Helen Paul, has opened up about a challenging episode in her relationship, revealing how her former boss attempted to dissuade her now-husband, Femi Bamisele, from dating her.
Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, she disclosed that her boss questioned why a lawyer like Femi would be interested in her, suggesting that he should only have fun with her and not consider a serious commitment.
In the podcast interview, Helen Paul shared the disheartening experience, recounting the discouragement she and her husband faced from her former boss. According to her, the boss questioned Femi’s choice, expressing disbelief that a lawyer like him would choose to date her. The boss even went as far as advising Femi not to pursue a serious relationship with her.
“My boss called my husband and said, ‘Femi, is it that Helen you want to date? You are more than this but if you just want to enjoy yourself with her, it’s okay. My HR looked at my husband and said, ‘Look at how clean you are, a lawyer. Why the choice of Helen?'”, Helen Paul shared.
