In the aftermath of filing a substantial N500 million lawsuit against her fellow actress, Lizzy Anjorin, for alleged defamation, Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence on the challenging times she’s facing.
Earlier, reports revealed Iyabo’s legal move against Lizzy, who accused her and her partner, Paulo Okoye, of involvement in Mohbad’s death. Lizzy also claimed Iyabo dated Naira Marley, orchestrated the Gistlover blog, engaged in promiscuity, and participated in a threesome with a wealthy politician.
In response, Iyabo demanded a public apology within 14 days or threatened Lizzy with the hefty libel fine. Despite this, Iyabo took to Instagram to share her resilience, stating,
I’ve been through many things, but I still hold my peace.”
However, the lawsuit has sparked criticism from netizens who find the demand excessive. Some opined that the legal action might not hold, as Lizzy didn’t explicitly mention Iyabo’s name in her allegations.
Social media reactions ranged from questioning the validity of the petition to suggesting that Iyabo might be motivated by personal grievances. Some users pointed out previous conflicts between Iyabo and Lizzy, emphasizing their history of public clashes.
This legal drama unfolded after Lizzy Anjorin referred to Iyabo as “Sepeteri,” leading to a war of words on social media. Iyabo clarified that “Sepeteri” is not her name, prompting Lizzy to mockingly assign her various names, creating a new chapter in their ongoing feud.
