Job Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Operations Executive at IBCL. The Operations Executive will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, analyzing data, managing operations teams, and improving company processes. Additionally, they will serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the operations team to promote a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and optimization of the movement of bulk goods via rail logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Work closely with key stakeholders, including rail authorities, suppliers, and clients, to streamline logistics processes.
- Support in the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and technology, to meet operational demands.
- Assist in implementing measures to optimise resource utilisation and reduce operational costs.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of quality control processes to ensure the consistency of bulk goods during transportation.
- Assist in the implementation of corrective actions and improvements based on performance metrics and feedback.
- Participate in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate in implementing and following safety protocols to ensure the well-being of personnel and the soundness of cargo.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Executive to understand client requirements and expectations.
- Proactively address client concerns and contribute to maintaining strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze data to drive decision-making
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience in operations management, including inventory control, logistics, and transportation
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience working in the logistics or transportation industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software
- Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced work environment
- Knowledge of rail logistics and an understanding of the Nigerian transportation landscape is an advantage
