Job Description
Carry out inspections, minor repairs, and maintenance programs onboard, as detailed in the planned maintenance system manual.
Responsibilities
- Carry out inspections, minor repairs, and maintenance programs onboard, as detailed in the planned maintenance system manual.
- Manage fuel, fuelling, and distribution systems.
- Responsible for technical tools and toolboxes assigned to the vessel.
- Keep proper engine room watch.
- Management of subordinates and resources under him.
- General Problem Trouble-shooting and Crisis Management.
- Determines the consumables required and controls the ordering of technical spares ensuring spare parts are in adequate supply for all voyages.
- Ensure proper logging of the hourly/daily engine room activities
- Management of power and deck machinery (compressors, sewage treatment, pumps, and oil separators)
- Interpersonal Skills and Team spirit.
- Prepares the engine room for inspection.
Qualifications
Certificate of Competence – Second Engineer License Regulation III/2
- STCW Basic Mandatory certificates
- NIMASA Medicals
- Discharge Book
- Yellow Book
- International Passport
- SID Number
- ISM
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years work experience
