Nigerian singer Harrysong has taken to social media to call out his former label boss, Kcee, over a royalties dispute. In a series of posts on his Instagram story, the artist appealed to Kcee to refund his money and release his songs.
Harrysong claimed that for over seven years, Kcee had been collecting 100% of his royalties from songs like “Reggae Blues,” “Baba for the Girls,” “Samankwe,” “Better Pikin,” “Oteshe,” and “Call My Bag.” He urged Kcee to be fair and give him what is rightfully his.
I’m here to beg you all to help me and follow me beg Kingsley Okonkwo, known as Kcee, to refund my money and release my songs. For more than 7 years now, he’s been the one collecting 100 percent of my Royalties from Reggae Blues, baba for the Girls, samankwe, better Pikin, oteshe, and call my bag songs. He collects one hundred percent of all my royalties. It’s not fair. At least, he can take his percentage and give me what is rightfully mine.”
Harrysong pleaded with Kcee, referring to him as a bully, and requested fairness in settling the dispute.
On Twitter, Harrysong further sought support, saying,
Y’all help me beg him. I deserve what is rightfully mine. It’s not fair at all. Don’t insult him. Pls help me beg him.”
This isn’t the first time Harrysong has addressed issues with former colleagues. Last year, he accused music executive Soso Soberekon of plotting to kill him, a claim that led to his arrest. However, he later apologized to Soso, attributing his false allegations to pressure.
In a previous revelation, Harrysong shared the challenges he faced in his career, stating that he would have died at the hands of his former label if not for God’s grace and the assistance of good people around him. He described the experience as hell, including torment, attacks, and bullying.
