Toke Makinwa took to her Instagram story to celebrate her father’s recent appointment as the Chairman of NNPC (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation).

Expressing her pride, Toke Makinwa acknowledged her father’s years of service in the oil industry, describing the new role as well-deserved after his tenure with Mobile.

In her Instagram post, Toke Makinwa shared her joy, stating, “Congratulations Daddy, I am so proud of you Papa. Chairman NNPC & All your years of service to the oil industry, from Mobil to this. The man for the Job. Very well deserved.”

However, the celebratory post took a controversial turn as netizens criticized the accompanying pictures featuring Toke Makinwa’s father alongside President Tinubu. Some online users alleged that Toke Makinwa may have been paid off by Tinubu, sparking a wave of criticism.

Toke Makinwa has faced previous backlash for her association with President Tinubu during a delegation event in Dubai. The event, known as the Conference of the Parties, drew attention for the large Nigerian delegation, including Toke Makinwa.

This revelation led to widespread discussions on social media, with citizens questioning the government’s priorities. Critics argued that funds allocated to the Dubai summit could have been better utilized to address pressing domestic issues, symbolizing the alleged suffering under the current administration.
