Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has granted a 14-day Christmas break for all state public staff beginning December 20.
Mr Emmanuel Ogbeche, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, said in a statement released to journalists in Calabar on Wednesday.
According to the statement, people on vital services are excused from vacation.
Otu commended the workers for their dedication and hard work in a statement headlined “Extended Holiday for Civil Servants.”
He advised the workers to take advantage of the chance to spend quality time with their families while also participating in the annual Calabar funfair.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to providing a quality and conducive environment for all inhabitants and residents of the state, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
The staff are anticipated to return to their duties on January 3, 2024.
