- Assess factors such as the applicant’s health, financial status, and lifestyle to determine insurability.
- Review insurance policies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Verify that policy applications comply with underwriting guidelines and regulations.
- Utilize statistical models and data analysis to assess risk and make informed decisions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in underwriting standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions and supporting documentation.
- Prepare reports on underwriting activities and present findings to management.
- Monitor policy renewals and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in underwriting.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using underwriting software and data analysis tools.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
