The management team of late singer Mohbad has refuted claims made by his father, Joseph Aloba, regarding the existence of a will.
In an official statement, the team clarified that no will or thumb-printed document had been communicated to the family or the public. They emphasized that if such a document existed, it would have been registered with the Probate Registry.
Providing an update on the ongoing investigation, Mohbad’s management disclosed that the Police Authorities had initiated the probe, and autopsy results from samples sent overseas were awaited, a process expected to take months. They also revealed that all of the singer’s accounts had been placed on a Post No Debit order since September 12, 2023, and would be handed over to the family upon resolution of the internal dispute.
This development follows Joseph Aloba’s earlier questioning of the authenticity of Mohbad’s will, expressing disbelief in his son’s choice of a thumb-printed document and alleging potential doctoring. The family has been entangled in a series of disputes, including accusations against Mohbad’s widow and lawyer.
Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, passed away at the age of 27 on September 12, under circumstances yet to be clarified. The Nigeria Police are actively investigating the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.
