Job Description
This role is a people management position. Outstanding candidates must have deep experience and derive their energy from coaching and developing individual performers to their highest potential. We will consider candidates across a breadth of functional experiences including: sales, business development, and partnerships – with preference for those with, direct-selling, quota-carrying, and international market experience. In addition, experience driving projects with cross-functional teams, comfort in a fast-paced environment, plus an innate ability to operate without a play-book are key to being successful on this start-up within Square. Responsibilities
- Lead growth and expansion within 3 key international markets (Australia, Canada, UK)
- Build predictable and repeatable sales funnel processes and best practices
- Evolve & refine the sales strategy, process, and tactics to improve performance
- Coach direct reports regarding strategies to increase revenue and customer success
- Support direct reports by participating in client and prospect meetings
- Mentor and develop sales team members, which includes hiring and training new account executives on sales process, methodology, and skill development
- Create an environment where people are encouraged to share information, constructively debate, and communicate freely
- Use sales metrics to manage the team and individual AEs, tracking the results and succinctly reporting to senior management (Salesforce report building)
- Establish and influence key internal and external partner alliances
- Collaborate with Sales Operations, Finance, Product, Marketing, and Risk to remove obstacles and close deals
- Lead weekly team meetings and drive day-to-day team initiatives
- Conduct monthly forecast and pipeline meetings with AEs
- Travel (monthly) for sales leadership and/or client meetings
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of management or team leadership experience
- 8+ years of direct-selling experience
- Excellent communication, presentation, and listening skills
- Superb interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work with and influence cross-functional teams and departments in a rapidly growing environment
- Expertise in creating rigor around sales metrics and managing yourself and others to drive metrics
- Familiarity with a sales methodology of preference and experience adapting to sales teams
- A genuine passion and excitement for technology and innovation
