The Ogun State Government announced that plans have been finalised to bring a contractor to the site to rebuild the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Motorway.
The government stated that it has chosen a credible contractor for the reconstruction of the road from among the three that bid on the task, while it awaits a formal Extract confirming the Federal Executive Council’s approval.
The 70-kilometer-long road will be rebuilt from Abeokuta to Abule Egba in Lagos State.
Engr. Ade Akinsanya, Commissioner for Works, said while providing further details on the Ogun State Government’s readiness to begin rehabilitation of the ever-busy route, saying the government was cautious in selecting the contractor who would work on the project.
He revealed that the engineering work, including survey, design, and Bill of Quantity (BOQ), had already been completed.
Akinsanya stated that 80 percent of the equipment needed by the contractor to relocate to the site is ready for deployment.
