Nigerian Catholic Priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, extends a hand of support to Labor Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, following his defeat in the recent election.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Fr. Ugwu acknowledges the fulfillment of promises to “teach Obi a lesson,” expressing empathy for the former Governor of Anambra State and urging others to check up on him, even questioning if he has eaten amidst the turmoil.
Fr. Ugwu’s compassion for Obi comes amidst a tumultuous period for the politician, who claimed to have faced threats after rejecting lucrative offers last December. Despite facing adversity, Obi remained resolute in his principles, vowing to stay on the right path regardless of the challenges.
The priest’s support for Obi also addresses recent controversies surrounding Obi’s family, notably his son Oseloka’s involvement in a viral photo featured in a gay publication. This incident sparked a heated debate on social media, with Fr. Ugwu emphasizing the need for understanding and empathy amidst such personal challenges.
Additionally, Fr. Ugwu recently condemned a viral video showing women wearing wedding gowns to a prayer event for husbands, questioning the double standards and societal expectations placed on women.
