Nigerian blogger, influencer, and entertainer Tunde Ednut has ignited a storm on social media with his prediction regarding the fate of social media activist Very Dark Man (VDM), who was recently arrested by actress Tonto Dikeh.
In a bold declaration on his Instagram page, Tunde asserted that VDM would likely experience a surge in popularity upon his release from detention.
Drawing from his observations of Nigerian society, Tunde highlighted a peculiar phenomenon where individuals tend to gain more prominence and influence following their encounters with law enforcement. He emphasized that it is the actions taken post-release that ultimately determine the trajectory of their fame.
The funny thing is that when Very Dark Man comes out, he will become more popular. Have you ever noticed that anytime Police arrest someone in Nigeria, you become bigger and more popular once you get released? Now, it is what you do with it immediately you come out that matters,” Tunde remarked.
This statement from Tunde comes in the wake of Tonto Dikeh’s arrest of Very Dark Man on charges of cyberbullying and threats to her life. The accusations stemmed from VDM’s unfounded claims linking Tonto to the controversial anonymous blog, Gistlover, resulting in a barrage of death threats against the actress.
VDM, known for his outspoken and sometimes controversial views on social issues, has previously clashed with Tonto over various matters, including her political affiliations and advocacy efforts.
Notably, Tonto had also engaged in a public spat with fellow actress Iyabo Ojo, where she criticized Tunde Ednut for supporting VDM. Tonto accused Tunde of aiding VDM’s harmful behaviour and undermining the efforts of individuals like Iyabo Ojo who advocate for social causes.
As Tunde’s prediction sparks debate and speculation online, it remains to be seen how events will unfold for Very Dark Man upon his eventual release.
