Renowned Nigerian comedian Ali Baba has taken to social media to express his skepticism regarding the arrest of controversial figure Bobrisky by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a sarcastic post on his Instagram page, Ali Baba questioned why Bobrisky was targeted for arrest while many others are seen abusing naira notes at events without repercussions.
Sharing a photo of men dressed in traditional Igbo attire showering money at an event, Ali Baba highlighted the gender disparity in law enforcement, implying that men often escape consequences for similar actions that women face punishment for. He described the situation as unfair, referencing a previous instance where a female celebrity was sentenced for the same offense.
Ali Baba’s post comes in the wake of Bobrisky’s arrest by the EFCC on allegations of currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira. The comedian expressed dismay over the treatment of women in the country and questioned the motives behind Bobrisky’s arrest in comparison to similar actions by men.
Bobrisky’s arrest has sparked debates on social media, with some defending him and others criticizing the EFCC’s actions.
