Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said they will not have the best player to control Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, when both sides face off in a Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday.
Kyle Walker, who picked up a muscle injury during the international break, has not recovered for the trip to Spain.
Guardiola told a press conference today:
“The best player to control Vinicius is Walker, but got injured in training. We have to find a solution.
“Gvardiol is here but he’s a doubt for tomorrow.
“Real Madrid had Courtois, Militao and Alaba out for months… it’s about finding solutions.”
This is the third consecutive year that Guardiola’s men will take on Carlo Ancelotti’s men in the Champions League knockout stages.
